Basically I carry an extra backpack on me with the mod and only equip it when I'm over encumbered and need to fast travel. WebThe Chemist and Grocer's backpack mods that one can get from the Raiders or Settlers are much more OP items. They have no drawbacks. But if you have saved up possum badges, I would say go for the high capacity mod if you already have 350+ DR, or the armor plated if you have low DR. You can always craft a couple of backpacks to switch between.

WebOf course you gain more than the static 30 carry weight with the chemist mod. But it is cancelled in PA, so it is less efficient than taking the perk that has the same effect. The high capacity has a penalty to energy and radiation defense, I believe its -60 to both. Obviously this does not apply while in power armor. WebYes, the high capacity backpack reduces your overall resistances as the cost of the extra carry capacity. Go with the raider or settler backpck mods instead, like the other commentors have said s the net benefit is much much better. So I just double checked to be sure. It gives you +60 Rad res and +60 Eng res still.
WebYou can;t add this mod to say a backpack that already has another mod, like the armor mod. It's at least exact the same effect as the skill card at strength but it doesn't stack. So it's your choice if you take the skill or backpack. I really like it and yeah it’s all drugs/chems I guess you could say.
