Web30 nov. 2010 · Just wondering if the steering racks on an ALH has a finite lifespan, or they normally go bad when they start leaking. I replaced one on DSOL last year, because it was leaking out of both ends. Steering is smooth but responsive. On DSEL, I have a little bit of oversteer, even when going straight. I also have a Peloquin LSD and 28mm rear swaybar. Web17 feb. 2012 · You will need to: Jack the car up and rest the front of the subby on wood blocks + chock rear wheels Remove road wheels Undo the nut on both track rod ends Inside the car undo and remove the small bolt at the bottom of the steering column you will need to remove the sheer bolt 1/2 way up the column aswell

Its not as easy as it first looks. 2 Bolt underneath that secure the rack, 1 pinch bolt on the column, 2 track rod ends, undo the pipe connection. Then you will almost definitely need to drop one of the wishbones down to give the space for the rack to exit sideways.
